All About Me

Hi all, welcome to my Hot Cooking Tips page. I am a wife of almost 14yrs and a mother to 4. I have 3 boys and 1 girl. I have been in a kitchen for as long as I can remember. I have worked in restaurants and now am a home chef and omnibus boy, (busboy) which also means an employee of a restaurant whose job it is to do pretty much everything: Wipe tables, fill glasses, ferry plates back and forth from the kitchen, and so on. While my home kitchen is not a restaurant, some days it seems like it is just as busy. I mostly enjoy being in my kitchen, but honestly, we all have one of those days every once in a while when we could literally care less. This is just a normal part of life at time I feel like.

I love to cook in various ways. I LOVE to grill. You will hear about grilling quite frequently here along with all the things to do with a kitchen. Indoor or outside. We move sometimes and different climates make different types of cooking more appealing. I am a southern girl a heart. A fresh cut yard and a grill going with good food is my happy place. I also have to find a new happy place within our current location too though. We always try to make the best of our location at the time.

I love to help people and teach as well. I am motivated to give you the best of my knowledge on anything and everything I write about.

Some Things Never Change

Let’s face it, we all have to eat! Someone will always be cooking because of different reasons. You have the people that want to learn, so they start cooking. Some will always be cooking because they enjoy it. Some will be cooking not because they want to learn or enjoy it, but because it is an essential part of life for the majority of people. Especially during our current times in life right now cooking is a skill that has been more appreciated and needed.

Work Smarter Not Harder

I try to be a minimalist in the kitchen with tools and gadgets. I love all the new stuff that comes out too, but I am skeptical to a point. I hate to spend money on something that doesn’t have a dual purpose most of the time. I try to be conscious of smarter, not harder, or more expensive. I am willing to spend money on something really worth it to make my life easier. Who doesn’t want to make meal prepping and cooking easier and still end up with the same end result?
